Challeng Painting for week ending Wednesday, July 15, 2009

A Triadic Color Scheme uses colors that are evenly spaced around the color wheel. To use a triadic harmony successfully, the colors should be carefully balanced – let one color dominate and use the two others for accent.

Adding white or black to any of these colors changes the Tint or Shade giving you either a lighter or darker color. When looking at the color schemes above, keep in mind that, using tints and shades add a world of variety to the basic schemes above. You can change the tint and/or shade of your colors and still follow either a primary, triadic or analogous scheme.

Now, the Challenge! Find these three objects...a peice of fruit...a small bowl...something glass and cloth for the backdrop. Place all objects in your lightbox with a strong light strong source and paint using a Triadic Colour Scheme of your chosing!!

Post your work on Wednesday, July 15...have fun girls!!!

  2. Neat challenge Ree, but you can't count woman. That is 4 things rotflol

So let me get this right, I need a small bowl, a piece of fruit, AND a glass object. I have to set it all up my light box, with a cloth background..? Sheesh you don't want much hahaha.

    This should be fun!!

  3. Hmm..my light box may be a little small. This may be a set it up on the table type thing. hehe Looks fun. I hope colored pencils are alright to do this in since hubby is trying to save money and spent a lot of money on them to make me happy. lol

  4. Glad you girls are excited enough to want to have a go at this challenge...I think it will stretch us a bit but that's what a challenge is all about and how we handle something outside our comfort zone! We'll have fun, I'm sure...:P Hehe!

Yes, Charity, you can join in too, with your coloured pencils and I'm looking forward to seeing your work in colour! ;)

Yep...JJ, I know I counted incorrectly, none of us are perfect, you know, plus I'm older than you and more decrepit, so I have a good excuse....! ROTFLMAO!!!

  5. I don't possess a light box Ree but I will try to set up something tricky with shadows and reflections if that is what you are looking for.
