  1. Woo-hoo! Now that is just too cute!! All you need, is the shadows under him and he is done. Your fur is very believable!!

  2. put some of the darkest black in his eyes.
I've tried to do black dogs, they are not easy.

  3. Are you talking about the pupils Mimi?

To make a beautiful black mix burnt sienna and ultra blue, or red and green. Each has it's own special kind of vibrancy.

  5. This great Anne...very well done!!
    You have improved outta sight!!

I agree with JJ's and Mimi's critique, also his left eyelid needs to come down a bit over the eyeball as atm he has a startled look...;)

  6. You would be better mixing your blacks with Burnt Sienna and ultramarine blue. You should mix up a big batch of it, and put in a screw top jar, it will last for weeks.. If you look closely, you will see all things painted black, lean to dark blue. It is the blue that gives the black it's richness. Make up your black colour, and get a piece of watercolour paper and paint a black paint chart. Use more blue in some squares and more BS in others. Try cobalt blue and BS for a cooler blue.

  7. I don't even have neutral tint in oils or acrylics. I have it in waterc9olours because it was given to me, and it is 5 years old.. ;-))
