Crikey!! ....nearly forgot .....I am running out of ideas ....

Something Easy!

Pastel pencils. 5"x7" Bockingford watercolour paper cp This was a heap of fun!!!!!

OUT OF THE BLUE

12"x16" double wrap canvas. Acrylic. This one is destined for the Market.. C&C most welcomed..

Something easy .....

An apple should be easy right? .....not so easy at all .... pastel pencils 4" X 3"

Something pretty....

A brooch ....unfortunately I wasn't able to show its prettiness ....about 2" X 2" ....it's come out sideways again!

My Easiest thing to Draw

This was definately the easiest thing to draw. I did it in Nupastel and it took me about 10 minutes. Infact all 3 of my drawings were done in about an hour...I wanted to catch up. I love sketching in pastel. It is so easy and quick. A few blobs of color a little blending and you are done. My favorite thing to wear also...one of my slippers I have had for about 3 years or so.

My most Gorgeous Thing

This one I did in colored pencil...it is a Dream Catcher...a gift from my youngest son. Why I think it is so gorgeous plus I do love Indian things.

Book

I made my book a simple one...one of my sketch books...no title to have to write.

DRAWING CHALLENGE DAY 54 (4 Aug 09)

Find something in your house or garden that you think would be very easy to draw and .....draw it ..... just keeping things simple as some of us (including me!) are behind!!

Hi Everyone!

Oops... I hit 'enter' instead of 'backspace' in the title box and it published!!
I'm not thinking straight ATM LOL

I'm just checking in as I've haven't commented on your work lately...reason being, I have my 90 year old mother in hospital. I've been visiting her every day for the past week. She has heart problems and is very tired, sleeping most of the time.
When she eventually goes home she will need to have Home Care come and shower her daily etc....she not happy with that at all, but the only other alternative is full time care in a nursing home! Mum's very independent and stubborn! ;)

My brother (her carer ATM) and I are trying to work out the best care for her and it's been very stressful for both of us and for Mum, too!
I'm so sorry, girls for not keeping up with the blog activities. Hopefully, all will be back to normal very soon...:)

DRAWING CHALLENGE DAY 51 (02-08-09)

Well it is actually the 3rd here now. I slept all day today, felt lousy. A4 sketchbook graphite.

This is a little book Tania gave me for my birthday. It is called, A Little Book of Sentiments For a Special Mother.

Car Update

Here's the update on this. I promise I HAVE been drawing. lol I think the shading still needs to go a bit darker, but I want to get all the pieces in place before I do that. :)

DRAWING CHALLENGE DAY 52 (3 August 2009)

Find something that you think is really pretty in your house and draw it ..... I know you are all gorgeous but no self portraits allowed!!!

My book

My book! ....ok so I cheated on the title of it ....it actually says "Christian Community Bible Catholic Pastoral Edition" but "The Bible" was easier!
I don't read the bible at all but I love this one. I bought it about 16 years ago when my brother was dying from cancer.
I had heard about a man who appeared to have healing powers and I had written to him. He told us to read "The Wedding at Cana" every day and so I bought the bible. Believe me you clutch at straws when a loved one is ill. We knew that part of the bible off by heart!
Anyway I still have that bible and I do love it even if I don't read it .... it has gorgeous thin pages in it that make a lovely sound when they are turned .... and the marker is still at The Wedding at Cana .....
Pastel pencils about 8" X 5"

And a bit more...

The watercolor pencils are too fun to leave alone..and my daughter begged me to draw another flower. So, I hope you gals don't mind if I post what I've painted/drawn...lol I have a HUGE respect for anyone who can do watercolor. As much fun as it is, I don't see how ANYONE can get details in...which is why I have so much respect for those artists that can. Hope you ladies like it. :)

DRAWING CHALLENGE DAY 51 (2 August 2009)

Draw a book.

Another scrubber!

Another scrubber ....different from JJ's though ....mine is a sponge one .....brand new so no germs in it yet!!
About 4" X 5" done with pastel sticks ....much messier than the pencils ....

DRAWING CHALLENGE DAY 50 (01-08-09)

A4 sketchbook graphite.. (the thing from under my kitchen sink)

Something New For Me....

I've been watching a friend's little girl quite a bit lately. She's a really sweet little 4 year old. Well, because I've been watching her, he bought me some watercolor pencils I've had my eye on. I tried them tonight, and they're SOOOO much fun!! I haven't played with watercolors in so long, and get some pencils like these...well..let's just say..I'm thrilled!! So, I figured I'd upload what I played with. I do apologize for the crappy picture. The paper is a bit too big for the scanner, so I had to take a pic..and I'm horrible at that. lol It's a lot brighter than the picture shows..

Still Working On It...

It's taking a REALLY long time, but I told you all I'd post an update, so here it is. :) I've darkened some of the lines of where the car's outline will be. I'm still working on the shading along the side. The tire in the front is mostly in shade, but I'm still working on the elipses for it, as well as the rim. Hope you all like. :D

From Under my Kitchen Sink

When I looked under my kitchen sink for something to sketch I was lucky and this was sitting right in the front. It was harder than the turtle but maybe I liked the turtle more.

From My Garden

This is a Turtle Garden Decoration from my corner garden by my house.

Hello Everyone

Hi! My name is Linn (Linda). I have known JJ for years and she invited me to join your group. I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia and have been experimenting and trying to teach myself art for a little over 10 years. I started out with Bob Ross...I walked in an art store and said I want to paint...they asked me what type of art, etc and I said I don't know I never painted before so they sold me a Bob Ross kit and that is where I started out and after about a year I got bored with that and decided I wanted to try more so now I experiment with everything. Thank you everyone for accepting me into your group. I am looking very forward to joining in and getting to know everyone.

In my garden ....

In my garden I often see a robin .... this isn't the one I see but it is similar....well it was raining today and I couldn't get out into the garden .....
