My name is Janine (aka "Daily Object Draw-er") and I live in Northern California, near San Francisco. In January of this year, I started drawing again after a 20 year hiatus. I also love to play with watercolors, Daniel Smiths being my favorite.
This is my effort in progress for today, an Ikea lamp from my living room. It's done with Derwent Inktense pencil, dark brown called "Bark," on Strathmore Windpower watercolor paper, size 6x9. I have not added the water yet, so this is the "before" shot. I will post the "after" shot... after! Apologies in advance. I am the world's worst photographer.

Nice to meet you Janine. :) It looks really good. And I can honestly say, you are not the world's worst photographer..that would be me. lol If I can scan it, it looks much better, if I can't..no matter what I do, the picture looks horrible. lol

ReplyDeleteNice lamp.. Is it one of those paper lamps? If so then I can see why the shadow would be soft. It looks like a paper lamp to me. I hope you post it in the d&s forum too, their critique is invaluable, and you can only grow from it.. :)

Well, I lost my comment, dang it! But, thank you Ree and thank you JJ. The Inktense are addictive. Let me know if you try them and what you think. I better go look around the garage for something to draw!
