I had an absolute ball painting this guy. I love the photo, the lights were magical, David is a great photographer!
I painted this on single thickness gallery canvas 12" x 16" in acrylics.
Here we have a group of friends, painting one picture a day, encouraging, and challenging each other, and having fun! We breath, we create!
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeautiful JJ!!!!! mine is coming up soon .....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful JJ. You have captured the colours very well!
ReplyDeleteI like the bird JJ, but I think the water colour is a bit harsh, too blue if you know what I mean.
ReplyDeleteBut hey, you did better than the one I haven't had a chance to do yet.
Thank you folks for your thank yous', thank you Bruce for your critique. I love critiques!!!
ReplyDeleteThis was a hard picture to photograph successfully. If I had the water looking realistic, I lost the colours in the bird, and those colours are reading correctly. I took this painting to the market yesterday, and got positive comments on it, which was good. I ask people what they think and why, when they say they like a painting. I have actually sold a couple that way, as they have really looked and realsied they really liked the painting enough to take home :D
Love the reflected light in this JJ!
ReplyDeleteI think the water could be a little lighter though, it quiet strong in value IMO
