The surgery was a success, more difficult than they expected but doable. As a result I CAN FUNCTION better already. I woke up in the middle of the operation with a start as they started adjusting my heart rate etc, but they forgot to freeze the area around the pacemaker and started digging and cutting. I was not amused to say the least. But I feel great. Praise God in Heavan.
It was yesterday and I am in a hotel with my wife tonite and home tommorrow. What a great relief.

I am so happy for you and your family, but not at all happy you woke up during the operation. That is bad, very bad!!!!! Are you going to do anything about it?

ReplyDeleteThanks y'all for your kind thoughts and prayers. I have found that my heart is still damaged and limited but it works way better than the last few years.
ReplyDeleteThe pacemaker has to be replaced every four years or so depending on how much the battery is used. But a pacemaker makes my enlarged heart beat properly and in synch.
I would be dead in a few years if not for the pacer, so no matter what I suffered, it was worth it. I love my wife and boys too much to want to leave quite yet.
The fact that you feel better than you did before, and you do have that pacemaker to keep your heart regular is a plus!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust do what you can do, and try not to get too frustrated when you find the things you can't do. I know that is easy to say, but I live with that all the time too, and the frustration is the worst!
