Still Working On It...

It's taking a REALLY long time, but I told you all I'd post an update, so here it is. :) I've darkened some of the lines of where the car's outline will be. I'm still working on the shading along the side. The tire in the front is mostly in shade, but I'm still working on the elipses for it, as well as the rim. Hope you all like. :D

From Under my Kitchen Sink

When I looked under my kitchen sink for something to sketch I was lucky and this was sitting right in the front. It was harder than the turtle but maybe I liked the turtle more.

From My Garden

This is a Turtle Garden Decoration from my corner garden by my house.

Hello Everyone

Hi! My name is Linn (Linda). I have known JJ for years and she invited me to join your group. I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia and have been experimenting and trying to teach myself art for a little over 10 years. I started out with Bob Ross...I walked in an art store and said I want to paint...they asked me what type of art, etc and I said I don't know I never painted before so they sold me a Bob Ross kit and that is where I started out and after about a year I got bored with that and decided I wanted to try more so now I experiment with everything. Thank you everyone for accepting me into your group. I am looking very forward to joining in and getting to know everyone.

In my garden ....

In my garden I often see a robin .... this isn't the one I see but it is similar....well it was raining today and I couldn't get out into the garden .....

Amazing stuff, Kieron

New member

I have invited a friend of mine Linda to the blog. I have known Linda for around 4 or 5 years now from WC, she is doing what we are doing looking for inspiration. She will join our daily drawing and our weekly painting challenges too.

Looks Like...

...crap right now. lol Ok, so this is what I've been working on. I don't have it nearly even close to finished yet. Not even halfway. I was going to wait to show you all, but I got antsy. hehe
So, here's the first stage. It's a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner..well, actually, it's only the front bumper and front shadow of a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner. But once I'm done, it'll be the entire thing. :) I've only got a basic outline of most of the car so far (lines are too faint to show right now).
Once I get it much much further, I'll post it for you all to see. :)

Weekly challenge

I kinda didn't do the challenge right as I have never drawn an orange before and I didn't paint it this time I pastel pencilled it!!!

DRAWING CHALLENGE DAY 49 (30-07-09)

Draw something from your garden.

This Weeks Paintting Challenge 30July - 7 August

A week ago JJ invited me to post this week's challenge on the 29th July. It is now the 30th and I for one did not meet last week's painting challenge.

Spring and Autumn are beautiful seasons, so this week select a flower/s or something leafy and paint it in any medium, any style.

Post it on Friday 7 August.

I tried ....

I tried ....I really did but it all went wrong ..... my kitchen roll drawing so I ended up so frustrated that I just drew a pencil ..... shoot me if you want to .....
am I a day late?

I painted

I am still sick, very sick, I slept on and off all day. I painted the background for this picture yesterday, and I painted the shoes tonight. The background in person is a pale pink and white colour and the shoes in person are a shiny cream colour. I have no idea why the picture is discoloured, like the yellow on the other shoes. I need to find the manual for my camera and recheck my settings.. 12"x16" acrylic

Painting under the influence of energy drink. Not for the faint hearted.....

That BHIP stuff is pretty powerful, if it can spark me up when I am sick, and I really am sick, imagine what it would do for someone not sick.. I painted these two paintings today both 12"x16" on double gallery wrap. I got a bargain last time I went to the Art Shed. I bought a box of 20 for less than the cost of the cheapies I was buying.. Pity I didn';t have enough money for two boxes..I should not have painted two picture, I am nuts as now I feel like death warmed up again. I didn't draw, as it is harder to draw than paint, I have to think to draw, and my brain was out to lunch....

DRAWING CHALLENGE DAY 47 (28-07-09)

As you all know, JJ’s on the sick list ATM, so she asked me to do the challenge for today.;)

So, here’s the drawing for today…:D

Take a piece of kitchen paper and scrunch it up, then pull it out slightly and draw the shapes you see.

DRAWING CHALLENGE DAY 46 (27-07-09)

You choose. Draw anything you like, just draw something :D

DRAWING CHALLENGE DAY 45 (26-07-09)

I did not draw anything..

I am sick. I went to the market yesterday, barely stayed awake for the whole day. I got home at 4.30pm and went to bed. Didn't get up until 9.00am this morning, and I still feel like death warmed up.

All the way from South Africa .....

I tried to draw an elephant! .....not at all as easy as I thought and I have not done that beautiful animal much justice I'm afraid ...... I am gonna try and do a painting of it next ....maybe I will do better then ....

Garage Object

Found this tube of Dielectric Silicone Grease among my husband's car stuff in our garage. Have no idea what it's for, but I liked the shape and color of the item. This is Inktense and water soluble graphite.

I'm happy to share my interpretation of the "garage assignment" with you, but would prefer to not receive critiques. Thanks!

P.S. I've come to the conclusion it's not the photographs that are "off kilter," it's the photographer!

Slightly Behind!

I have already fallen slightly behind but I blame it on the time difference. I will be catching up shortly on the garage item (already selected and set up in a shadow box on my desk for the the morning) and the "anything my heart desires" drawing. Went into the city today for a 3 hour figure drawing session. It was lovely.
